How To Cook Baby Bok Choy
Prepared simply steamed bok choy tossed in a spicy lime and sesame dressing is an easy fresh vegetable side dish.
How to cook baby bok choy. Add 1 cup of green onions three cloves of garlic and 1 pound of baby bok choy to the pan. Of good quality olive oil in a large saute pan to medium high heat. Cut the baby bok choy in half lengthwise then cut across into small pieces.
Prep time 10 mins. Wash the baby bok choy and drain. Heat wok and add oil.
Cook for about 2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant and the stems are lightly softened. Total time 14 mins. Add bok choy stirring to evenly coat.
Heat 1 to 2 tbsp. Cover and cook 2 minutes. Add a teaspoon of olive oil or butter and add the chopped stalks along with a minced garlic clove and a pinch of chili flakes if you like.
Cook for no more than 2 minutes then remove and drain the water. The first veggie bin of the year arrived last week. The blanched bok choy can be rested on paper towel to drain then use it as needed.
Cook time 4 mins. To blanch bok choy bring a saucepan of water to the boil and add the cleaned bok choy. You can add a sprinkle of salt to the vegetables to your taste.
