How To Cook River Mussels

How to cook river mussels. Shake the pan once or twice during cooking with the lid still on to distribute the mussels. Add the butter and when it has melted add the shallots. Add the mussels in their shells to your favorite soup salad or linguine.
After 5 minutes remove the lid and check the mussels. Drizzle worcestershire sauce and sweet chilli sauce over the mussels. Nearly all the mussels should be open by now.
Pop on a tray under the grill until the butter melts. Place a medium sized pot over medium high heat. Using a small fork scrape the mussel meat from its shell.
Sauté the shallots for 3 minutes then add the garlic and cook for 30 more seconds. Salt and pepper to taste.
