How To Make Asparagus Grill
One pound of asparagus needs about four tablespoons of olive oil.
How to make asparagus grill. Sprinkle with salt pepper and seasoning salt. Instructions preheat an outdoor grill to high heat about 450 degrees f. Remove and discard the tough bottom of each asparagus spear by grasping each end and bending it gently until it snaps at its natural point of tenderness usually two thirds of the way down the spear.
Grill for 2 3 minutes on each side until bright green and tender. Grill the asparagus spears for 2 4 minutes until lightly charred and just fork tender turning them often so that they brown on all sides. Toss asparagus lightly in oil and season generously with salt and pepper.
No need for grilled asparagus on foil. Cook for about 3 4 minutes depending on the thickness of the spears until lightly browned but with a slight crunch. Alternatively you can use a grill pan heat on high.
Grill with the lid closed until the spears are tender and crisp. Place the asparagus spears on the grill so that the thickest ends are aimed toward the hottest part of the grill. Grill turning occasionally until tender and charred 3 to 4 minutes.
Remove from grill and serve. You don t want them to be dripping wet but they should have a nice sheen of oil. Oil holds heat much more evenly than plain asparagus leading to better cooking and grill marks.
Heat grill or grill pan to medium high. Wash the asparagus well and snap off the woody ends. In a large bowl toss asparagus lightly in oil then season with salt and pepper.
